Purpose of the role:
Develop and implement pricing and reimbursement strategies to achieve fast, broad, and sustainable access to Novartis products across the portfolio. Identify and overcome access hurdles in Switzerland to create value for patients, the Healthcare System and Novartis, by building strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
This role reports directly into the Lead Market Access and is part of the Market Access Team.
About the Role
Major Accountabilities
- Develop and implement pricing and reimbursement strategies to achieve fast, broad, and sustainable access to Novartis products in alignment with the local leadership and regional/global teams
- Prepare and submit reimbursement dossiers to national authorities applying high standards of operational excellence
- Manage alignment within cross-functional teams, securing resources and endorsement from local leadership
- Work closely with HEOR for pharmacoeconomic models to accurately reflect the value of our products in the local environment as needed
- Demonstrate deep understanding of stakeholder needs, the competitive and P&R environment. Provide early input into local and global product development, P&R strategies, financial planning and business decisions
- Identify and address relevant data gaps in collaboration with HEOR, local and regional/global Medical and Market Access functions
- Evolve, maintain, and update all relevant P&R tools and systems to enable accurate, efficient, and reliable data handling and processes
- Build and leverage networks and relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative reimbursement solutions, address access hurdles in the Swiss Healthcare System and demonstrate the value of our products
- Anticipate business impact of current and future legislation in close collaboration with External Affairs, and provide input into policies and industry association on relevant topics to contribute to a favorable business environment
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Degree in the field of Natural Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Healthcare or Business / Economics or equivalent
- Full professional proficiency in English and German, French is considered an advantage
- 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in Pharma/Life Sciences/Health Insurance industry
- Good commercial understanding of the pharmaceutical market
- Solid understanding of national health care system, regulatory environment, and drug reimbursement process
- Sound understanding of health economic evalsuation
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand and clearly communicate scientific and economic topics
- Ability to develop trust-based relationships with government officials, health insurances and other external and internal key stakeholders
